York House is a 17th century stately home in Twickenham with fantastic formal gardens that sweep down to the Thames. It’s also the home of most of the departments of Richmond council.
Richmond has some running wedding venues and this is another. It has various rooms, the reception room is simply stunning in itself and holds up to 70 guests. A string quartet is right at home here. After your ceremony you’ll want to head for drinks in the garden rooms, which as their name implies open up onto York House’s magnificent sunken gardens. York House’s formal gardens have to be seen to be believed, and all the way down to the river Thames is one opportunity after another. The bridge over the road to the second half of the gardens is fantastic and the fin-de-siecle style water nymphs in the gardens are one of a kind and make a stunning backdrop for your photographs. If less formal and more scheduled suits you more, then there is a secluded hidden garden, complete with streams and bridges. Can you tell I love this place?
For your breakfast, the kitchens at York House serve a fantastic meal, and can cater for up to 150 of your guests in style.
For example wedding photographs from here have a look at Doris and Ed’s or Vikki and Alex’s Twickenham weddings
I’ve included a short video slideshow of weddings from York House so you can see just how impressive it is.
