or this. But I’m going to anyway. Every so often you take a photo that just sums up just how much emotional investment and sheer joy goes into a day like this. A bit like this one.

Back when I had my previous job Gabi, Simon and I used to all work together, so I was really, really pleased to be asked to photograph their wedding this coming weekend – watch the blog for those photos. They’ll be superb. I’m looking forward to it – although I suspect not as much as they are .

Simon being a “bit” of a petrol head had to have his porsche feature somewhere, and it managed to find a place. Look for the photos of it.

A park bench, gorgeous weather, fantastic location – what more could one hope for from your photographs?.

St Albans really was a great call to do this .

This really was a great looking park, with a great looking couple.

And theres something about people by water in photographs I love.

You can’t get better then St. Albans Cathedral for a backdrop.

So much so I thought I’d feature it twice on this post.

I love this photograph. Its just a lot of fun .

I told you the porsche would get in here. I suspect these positions didn’t last too long.

I’d genuinely no idea how much skill the professional chocolatiers have, nor how much work they put in, from tempering chocolate through to flavouring with salted caramel, chilli, cardamon, tobacco or pretty much anything else you could think of. One guy was even using marmite as a flavouring, but as I’m definitely in the ‘hate it’ camp, I’ll be giving that one a miss.

OK some photos, and as its Easter this weekend starting with a few easter eggs seems as good a place as any.

Heading away from my normal London Wedding Photography haunts I headed up to Cressbrook Hall in the stunning Derbyshire Peak District last week to attend a fantastic 1920′s vintage themed photography workshop organised by my friend Simon Revill.

It’s great to get away, out of the city and to try out a few new things away from the importance of a wedding. To be able to take a little time as a photographer to experiment a little bit and work out some new ideas is fantastically important.

Cressbrook hall is a truly stunning location, and it was well and truly matched by the models and the 1920′s style wedding dresses they were wearing. I’ll stop talking now about how good it all was now, and let you enjoy the photos…….. (ps did I mention the weather was also stunning as well)

Getting ready.

it’d be hard to do better then this location, and these models.

This photo deserved nothing but a vintage Hollywood style Black and White.

I wanted to try some new lighting ideas, I think it worked, don’t you?

and the gateway was just to good not to .

this 1920′s dress is stunning.

and it would of been wrong not to feature a 1920′s groom as well.

sometimes, you just have to shoot into the sun for that fantastic 1920′s feel.

and backlit bridal portraits just work.

and backlighting works here too.

I think this is my favourite photo from the day. I was trying some new ideas and they seem to just work. More then anything I love the peace and serenity from this photograph.

Although, it does have to be said, this photo has something very special about it. I think the sun behind her makes it.

and I thought I’d finish for now with another vintage Hollywood  black and white.

Working like this wouldn’t take anything away from your wedding photographs. If I thought it would I’d never even suggest it as an idea – but I believe, as a photographer it would produce some fantastic results. I haven’t done this yet for three real reasons:

Firstly, I believe if I’m going to do this I should discuss it with you before hand.

Secondly, this idea isn’t suitable for every wedding by any means.

Thirdly, and perhaps this is closer to home then I’d care to admit, I’m a boy and we do like our toys .

Now, if we discussed this, and agreed that you both liked the idea and that your wedding was suitable, then I’ll offer a discount of £250 against my normal wedding rates. You can apply this discount to whatever package. This is a one time only offer, once its taken its taken and its only open to one couple. I’m also going to put one further condition on it. You can only use this for your Surrey wedding photography, or London wedding photography.

I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t think I could do a fantastic job of it, if I bought it was going to produce anything other then stunning photography I wouldn’t do it, I wouldn’t even think about the idea if I didn’t think it would work, and work very well.

One other thing – even though I’d only be working with one camera and lens, I’d still carry back up equipment, even the most reliable cameras can go wrong, and have back up in place, like at every wedding is essential.

I’ve also attached a few photos below using a 50mm for some wedding photographs, as you can see the results are stunning.

And more colours with the drinks for the toast. I think the colours here are just fantastic.
